We are currently following all government mandates for Covid-19 and going beyond requirements. As a part of our new infection control routine, we now have multiple air management devices. In addition to the Isolite intraoral suction system, which we have had since 2008, we now have the ADS Extra Oral Suction System and the JADE air purification system. The Isolite goes in the mouth and reduces aerosol by as much as 90% according to a 2012 study. The ADS Extra Oral Suction System uses a 0.3-micron HEPA filtration and UVC light to filter aerosol during procedures. The JADE air purification system acts as an advanced air filter, using 0.1-micron HEPA filtration, activated carbon filtration, a germicidal UV-C+ chamber, super oxidizing photocatalytic nano-TiO2 (which has virus and bacteria killing properties), and negative ion production. We have enough of these JADE units to meet “GOLD” standard air filtration, which is the highest rated standard and meets hospital operating room requirements.
